Wow!
So much has happened in the 9 years I've been away from this blog. Barack Obama was a 2 term President, the APNU won the Guyana elections in 2015 and the US elected Donald Trump as President!
Let's talk!
I am back.

it's shameful ... very shameful.
I can't understand how the botanical gardens still having problems with security with all the so called "watch men" stationed around. Is it possible they also getting their peace of the robbery pie?
Something to think about.
People are not really serious about their jobs. I guess if they knew that they could lose it at any instant they would have been on their toes about everything that goes on around them.

Bird Watching in Guyana - a new passion, a wonderful website
I came across this website Guyana Naturally which has tremendous information on bird watching in Guyana and because of its impressive design and layout, i just had to include it in my blog. Here you will find many pictures and details on birds in Guyana especially if you are interested in visiting this wonderful Land.
I'm not so much familiar with the names of birds and the different types of species and all that, but i do know when i see a beautiful bird. And the one in this photo (Hoatzin) is definitely amazing.
So if your are a bird fanatic or just someone with a bit of curiosity for some of God's beautiful creation, a warm welcome awaits you in the land of One People, One Nation, One Destiny.

Sarkozy wins China 20bn euro deal
BBC NEWS:
Mr Sarkozy urged Mr Hu to strengthen China's currency
French industrialists visiting China with President Nicolas Sarkozy say they have finalised trade deals worth almost 20bn euros ($30bn; £14.5bn).
These include a delivery of 160 Airbus passenger planes to the value of about 10bn euros.
And state-owned French energy firm Areva said it had signed a contract to build two nuclear reactors in China.
The announcements came as Mr Sarkozy held a second meeting with his Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao. Read more from BBC NEWS ...
Editor's Note: Mr. Hu, what about Guyana?
Guyanese, what are we doing to attract new investments?

How is the exchange rate set between countries?
For sometime now the world is seeing a decline in the value of the Dollar. Even rap stars are making videos where they are 'ditching' the Dollar for the stronger Euro.
I've seen the Indian economy in some ways flourish because of a strong Rupee against the Dollar. Now the number of billionnaires in India has exponentially grown within a few months. Mr. Gates has even lost his 'world's richest man' status to an Indian. My Question is, what sets the exchange rate between two countries? How can one country - Guyana, fail to maximise on the decline of the Dollar while most other countries profit? Six months ago the exchange rate of the Guyana Dollar to the US Dollar was 200 to 1. Today despite the slump of the value of the Greenback, Guyana's currency fails to improve its worth. It is now matched about 205 to 1. Even airlines and tour organisers are telling persons desireous of visiting the US from Europe to travel light and buy their commodities in the US because it is now so much cheaper. Can Guyanese feel the same about visiting the States!!
It would be interesting to know exactly what is responsible for the stagnant or almost non growth of the Guyanese Currency which invariably reflects the growth the economy.
